COMIC: Sun Bathing at the Beach (13/365)

This is a short comic I made and posted on my Facebook account. Each panel of the comic was posted as one photo in an album in FB. When you click the right arrow, you go to the next panel. All in all there are four panels.

You might be wondering how I thought about this story. It actually happened when I went to the beach at Zambales yesterday. Haha! But my pink pail did not get swept by the waves. It was too far from me. There were also no yellow starfish and white shell. What floated away with me was the life vest I was lying down on. The guy laughing at me was my friend Enzo. He helped me out actually but he did laugh so much about what happened. Hahaha! ^_^

How the story went: I got so tired and dizzy from floating and kayaking so I rested on the shore, reasonably away from the water. My friend Enzo was standing near me. He looked away. And when he looked back to check on me, I disappeared. I was swept by the big wave! Hahaha! ^_^

Using a simple and cute style, this is my first attempt at drawing not only people’s heads but also their bodies. This looked easy but was actually a bit hard for me, because I couldn’t help but draw their right body shapes. I was thinking that if I do that, the result wouldn’t be “cute” anymore. And that had to be the point of the style – it has to be cute, using simple dots and lines as eyes and mouths, with no eyebrows and noses. But the challenge here is how do you make the drawings look like them? Well, I think I managed to do it for this one. Drawing the right body shapes below the cute faces might not be appropriate because that might look creepy, right — cute heads with muscled body? So, the style of drawing the bodies has to be “cute” as well, and that would mean not exactly like real but you’ll still see the resemblance ^_^
